Artist
About me:
I became serious about painting eight months ago. Since then, I’ve produced over 40 paintings, mostly in acrylic, painted on canvas and wood.
I grew up in household surrounded by art, as my mother was (and still is) and exhibiting artist. Our house always smelled of oil paint and turpentine.
While I dabbled for years, I was never formally trained, nor did I believe I possessed the ‘gift’ to be a talented artist.
But then something clicked in me. As I’m growing older, I became aware of how fleeting this whole adventure called life is. And how long we can hang on to self-limited belieft in service of staying in our lane and ‘sticking to what we’re good at.’
In truth, to become a good artist, I finally felt safe enough to suck at. And in doing so, my vision has become sharper (not literally, unfortunately, but figuratively). I’ve slowed down to observe, and in doing so I continue to learn.
So I picked up a canvas and paints and just began. Now I can’t stop. I’ve sold a few pieces and am always surprised and delighted that people want my paintings.
In the meantime, I hope you enjoy my journey.
xo,
Corinne
